The fifth annual conference on Artificial General Intelligence (AGI-12) will be held at University of Oxford, December 8-11. AGI-12 will be hosted by the Future of Humanity Institute at Oxford University and will be held together with the first conference on AGI Safety and Impacts.
- Research-centric Summer School in Interactive Robotics & Media
The Interactive Robots and Media Lab of NYU AD, New York University’s largest global campus, home to "IbnSina", the world's first arabic speaking android robot and the “FaceBots” social robots, is organizing its third international summer school, which will take place in 2012 between June 17 and July 12, with a duration of four weeks.

On Thursday, August 4, IIIM organized a workshop on self-programming in AGI systems at the Fourth Conference on Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) in Google's headquarters, Mountain View, CA. The workshop featured presentations by seven authors on the subject of self-programming systems and a panel discussion among the participants.

This educational congress focuses on clinical practices in viral hepatitis and benefits not only hepatologists and infectious diseases specialists, but also general practitioners and primary care physicians with a desire to gain knowledge in these areas. It will attempt to summarize all the key new data recently presented and how it might be implemented in the routine care of hepatitis B and C patients. Over recent decades, the incidence of metabolic diseases such as obesity and diabetes has risen to epidemic proportions. Projections into the future suggest increasingly unmet patient needs and an unsustainable challenge for health care systems. Simultaneously, the drug discovery process is facing its own challenges. Novel strategies and new insights are needed to treat these diseases. This symposium aims to bring together established experts, physician scientists and basic researchers to discuss the multi-layered and complex processes leading up to novel therapeutic strategies for diabetes, obesity and related health issues, such as cancer and cardiovascular disease.

With participants invited to submit papers, a selection of the best entries will be published by the Polish Ministry of Science. The conference is part of the celebrations of the 110th Jubilee of a technical university in Gdansk, who will be co-organising and hosting the event.
